Finally there will be some heat placed on the pope and his highest ranking officials for the systematic rape and child sex abuse over the last thirty some years. I am not terribly confident anything will come of this, but having the ICC at least investigate for crimes against humanity would be a huge blow to the stigma surrounding the infallibility of these people. The vatican seems to have to answer to no one in this world and it is quite obvious that they are incapable of policing themselves when they can't understand that crimes of most despicable kind are being committed right under their noses and they do nothing. This has become a world problem and one best suited to be tackled by the ICC if it has any shot at all.
