More homegrown plots of terror from Islamic extremists. Luckily this one was foiled, but it goes to show how these guys are lurking around each corner, trying to bully and strike fear into the hearts of Americans. What this idiot doesn't understand, is that he is more free to practice his own interpretation of his religion here than anywhere else in the world. He is a U.S. citizen and schooled at Northeastern University. I still am baffled how people can get so fooled and blinded by their religion to think that destroying landmarks and killing innocent people can possibly further their cause in any productive way. It is insanity.
According to a federal affidavit, Ferdaus said he wanted to deal a psychological blow to Americans, the "enemies of Allah," by hitting the Pentagon, which he called "head and heart of the snake."
In a conversation with a federal informant, Ferdaus allegedly explained how in ancient times, God uses natural disasters to punish evil civilizations, and he would use them today. "For us, we've gotta do that," he said, according to the affidavit. "Allah has given us the privilege ... he punishes them by our hand. We're the ones."
