Stunning photographs released by NASA from its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter of the Apollo moon landing sights and the equipment and tracks left behind by those brave astronauts fifty years ago. Playa Hatin' on all the losers who thought it was just a hoax, these images show in amazing detail the missions of man on the moon. So cool to think back at the heroes who risked it all to put their feet on that bit of rock 240,000 miles away that controls our tides and shows us stunning solar eclipses. You can just picture the lunar rover driving over the foreign terrain and Alan Shepard hitting golf balls 'til tomorrow in that super-low gravity field. awesome.

We Seek the GRAIL
NASA To Launch Twin Moon Probes Thursday
NASA this week will launch the GRAIL probes to map the gravity of the moon. GRAIL or Gravity Recovery And Interior Laboratory will orbit the moon on opposite sides and virtually chase each other around the satellite making measurements in the variations of the gravitational field of the moon. This will provide scientists with detailed information that will lead to future moon landings and other insights about the moon's history. The probes are scheduled to launch Thursday and should arrive at the moon around new years day.
